The “Getting Schooled in Infrastructure” Tour, LIUNA’s six week multi-state tour to press Congress to act on a full investment Highway Bill that will fix our roads and bridges and protect hundreds of thousands of jobs, concluded last week as Congress adopted a short-term patch that narrowly averted an immediate financial catastrophe. LIUNA continues to push for Congress to do their job by acting this year on a long-term full-investment highway bill.   The campaign included hard-hitting billboards, radio ads, props and a website which makes it easy to contact Congress. The duct-tape approach, taken by Congress, has resulted in deteriorating roads and bridges and threatens to destabilize the construction industry. See coverage of LIUNA and see the ads.
